ASU MBA CAPSTONE PROJECT

An MBA capstone.
A work in progress.

Midway Maps is a school project I’m still developing. The maps and artwork here are previews and are not currently for sale.

I’m developing Midway Maps as my capstone project for the Arizona State University (ASU) MBA program.

A familiar street can bring home into focus. A river can reveal how a city grew. A state outline can hold years of memories. There is something reassuring about seeing a place in relation to everything around it.

This project explores how real geographic data, design and interactive storytelling can come together in a collection of maps and interactive stories. I’m still refining the designs as part of the capstone.

A map to live with.
A world to keep discovering.

From the wall to the wider story.

A printed map offers perspective at a glance. It invites a pause, a memory, a conversation. An interactive atlas gives that curiosity somewhere to go: into the food, drinks and histories that make each place its own.

Midway Maps brings those experiences together. The wall prints celebrate the character of a city or state. The themed atlases pair a complete poster composition with stories and geographic connections to explore online.

The purpose is simple: to help people feel more connected to the places they know—and more curious about the places they don’t.

02 / OUR APPROACH

Real places. Considered design.

Geographic data is the foundation of every map. Mapped streets, waterways, terrain and boundaries give the work its structure. Color, typography and illustration give each design its character.

We simplify and arrange details for clarity at poster scale. Our source notes explain where the data comes from, how it is used, and where illustrations or interpretive connections add context.
